Seniority: Intern
Sandia National Laboratories is hiring an undergraduate summer R&D intern to support engineers developing resilient embedded computing solutions. The intern will write embedded software, develop and test firmware, and validate real-time hardware and software for navigation, guidance, and control applications critical to national security.
Responsibilities
- Write embedded software on State-of-the-art SoCs (system on chip)
- Develop and test firmware for novel navigation, guidance, and control applications
- Test and validate real-time hardware and software solutions critical to national security
Qualifications
- Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program
- Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience developing and deploying embedded hardware or software
- Experience targeting embedded processors in state of the art SoC¿s
- Experience developing FW for modern FPGAs
- Experience with embedded operating systems
- Experience using revisions control and bug tracking tools (Jira, Gitlab)
- Experience with C, C++ and Python
- Experience with guidance, navigation, and control algorithms or sensors
- Excellent teaming and communication skills
Skills
