Description
Seniority: Intern
Applied Materials develops materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and advanced display technologies. The Software Engineering Summer Intern will design and develop control system software, prototype interfaces for devices and sensors, troubleshoot software issues, create and execute test plans, document software, and collaborate with the team.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop code for Control System Software projects
- Design and create prototype software to interface with new devices, actuators and sensors
- Assist in troubleshooting a variety of moderately difficulty software problems
- Create and execute test plans on simulators, test benches, or the lab
- Develop software documentation
- Collaborate closely with the team
Qualifications
- Student must be pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Student must be in good academic standing, with a GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Proficiency in C and ++
- Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and hands-on problem solving
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates a passion for contributing ideas to influence others to succeed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in programming in one or more of the following areas is desired: Real-time Control, Motion Control, Embedded Programming, Multi-threading, C#, .NET, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Visual Studio
